Trip Route

Paro – Punakha- Thimphu- Jangothang – Shana – Paro .

Day 01: Arrival at Paro

Welcome to the land of Buddhism!!!

Upon your arrival at Paro, you will meet Bhutan Luxury Team representative who will assist you to your pre-booked hotel. After relaxing for a while, leave for a short sightseeing tour of Paro Valley. During seeing the sights, you can visit Rinphung Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang and other attractions. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk in lively Paro town. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2- 3: Punakha and Wangdue Valley

After a delicious breakfast in the morning, you will leave for Punakha-Wandgdue valley. On the way, stop at Dochula pass to take pleasure in seeing the beauty of snow-clad mountain peaks. Afterwards, continue your journey towards the Punakha valley which is situated at an elevation of 1700m (5,500ft) above sea level. After enjoying the loveliness of nature in Punakha valley, enjoy appetizing lunch and then leave for next halt that is Wangdue Phrodrang.

Next day, you will visit Richengang village where you will pay homage to the Chimi Lhakhang temple which is dedicated to Bhutan’s famous Saint Drukpa Kuenley. Later visit Punakha Dzong, a place where two rivers meet together. The evening is at leisure. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Hiking to Lungchuzekha

Enjoy the appetizing meal in the morning and then leave for Lungchuzekha trekking. The trek begins from Punakha retrace to Dochula, allowing voyagers to enjoy the picturesque view of Himalayan peaks and lush green environment. Later, Lungchuzekha temple and walk through the rich foliage of moss laden birch, hemlock and rhododendrons trees.

In the evening, visit the great Tashicho Dzong and the giant Buddha statue. Later, enjoy watching the beautiful sunset view. After meals, stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 5: Trip to Thimphu Valley:

Today after breakfast, you will leave for the Thimphu valley which is situated at 2,350m (7500ft) above sea level. The beautiful hill station has plenty to offer, where one can explore the attractions like Takin Preserve, Zilukha nunnery, Traditional Art School, Memorial Chorten, and a lot more. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch and then visit National Library and Centennial Farmer’s market. The evening is free to enjoy your own. After a delicious dinner, stay overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 6: Paro – Shana –ThongduZam

On the 6th day of your tour, you will leave for Paro. En-route, stop at Drugyal Dzong to visit a fortress. Later continue your journey towards Shana Zam, situated at the high altitude of 2850m. Here, you will meet the trekking crew which includes horseman, a cook and a representative to guide you. The trek will take approximately three to four hours to reach to the valley. During the trek, you will cross through Pachu River and J.DW National Park. When reaching the camp at Thongduzam, enjoy the unbelievable beauty of Bhutan and forest. After dinner, stay overnight at the camp.

Day 7: Trek to Soi Thangthanka:

Enjoy the fresh breeze in the morning, the leave for a trek for further up in the valley. Also explore the magnificent beauty of Paro River, lush forest, oak and pine trees and much more. Enjoy the adventurous evening in the forest. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8: Trek to Jangothang (Jomolhari Base Camp)

In the morning after breakfast, you will leave for a village trek, following the Paro River. The trek will be of four to five hours with small halts in between. You will also get to see the scenic view of snow-capped peaks. On the way to Jomolhari Base Camp, visit yak-herding villages to get an amazing experience of your life. After reaching the camp at Jangothang, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. After dinner, stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Leisure Day to enjoy the beauty of Jangothang

Without any doubt, Jangothang is one of the most magnificent camping places where voyagers come from all over the globe. The day is for rest and to enjoy the beauty of nature and the mountains. In the evening, you may visit nearby local villages. After dinner, stay overnight at the camp.

Day 10: Trek across Bhontela to Dumzo( SoiYaksa)

On the 10th day of your Incredible Bhutan Chomolhari Trek, you will leave for Dumzo trek. This is one of the most adventurous treks in the country. The trail begins with a steep hike to Tshopu lakes and en-route you will pass through to Bhonte La pass, located at the altitude of 4,890m above sea level. This trek is famous for wildlife which includes blue sheep, fat marmots, migrating Himalayan birds and much more. On the way also explore yak herding village called SoiYaksa. After reaching the camp, enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the tent.

Day 11: Trek to ThongbuShong

Today’s trek begins with a climbing trail to the top of the eastern point of the SoiYaksa valley. This is the point where one gets to enjoy an incredible view of the arena of beautiful mountains to the north as well as the west. On the way, pass through Takhungla and also enjoy beautiful views there. On reaching ThongbuShong, enjoy another camping. After dinner, stay overnight at the camp which is situated at 4,180m above sea level.

Day 12: Trek to Shana- Paro

Enjoy the appetizing breakfast in the morning and then leave for the remote mountain trail, followed by the hike to Thombu La. This is a point where travelers get to see the picturesque view of the Paro valley. Later continue towards Paro, en-route visit Shana. This is the moment where your hike comes to an end. You will meet a representative who will drive you back to Paro. In the evening, you will reach your hotel. Enjoy the comforts of your hotel, after dinner overnight stay in Paro.

Day 13: Paro (Taktsang)

The 13th day of your tour is for full day hiking. Today, you will visit the famous Taktsang, also known as the tiger’s nest monastery. Later visit famous monasteries including Zangdopelri, UgyenTshemo, Takstang and others. In the evening, you will return back to Paro. Later, you will get to enjoy dinner.

Day 14: Departure

Your Bhutan Trekking Tour comes to an end here. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro airport to board a flight for further destination.
